So my sweet little, freckle faced boy had a STEM fair project due for fourth grade! He came home the end of March with a small amount of paperwork, and when I asked what it was about, he said it wasn't required and he didn't have to do it. After reading said paperwork, I realized it was past the date for the project idea. So I assumed he was right and maybe wasn't required to participate. Well over the next few weeks more little notes came home here and there. I put two and two together and e-mailed his teacher. It WAS required and my sweet boy KNEW this. They were doing mock projects and tri fold boards at school. At this point he had a week and a half before it was ALL due! We had nothing! I went into Mommy panic mode after lecturing how important it was to be responsible. He chose a project and the work began......it was the most stressful week and a half I have had in a while. Lots of tears from mommy and the boy. But we completed it and turned the entire project in ON TIME!!
Here he is conducting the experiment to gather the necessary data!
Here he is with the tri-fold board that he had to do that compiles all the data, procedures, charts, hypothesis and all that!
He sure was pretty proud! And he should be! He did it and in the process learned how important it is to get things started when you are supposed to. He worked so hard and had to give up a lot of play time, which is very important to a 9 and a half year old boy!!
And all his hard work really paid off. He won 2nd place in the 4th grade STEM (Science) Fair!!
Going up to get his Certificate and Ribbon!
2nd Place! I am so proud of you!
