Proud Mommy!!

Today both kids had an award ceremony. They were both chosen as Shining Star, which is where teachers highlight certain children who do a good job with the particular "theme" of that quarter. This quarter was for being safe. I am very proud of both my lil' people! They always do a good job in my eyes. They also passed out 4th grade Science Fair awards, but I think that deserves a post all it's own.

She is totally a Daddy's Girl!
But she loves her Mama too!!!

This one just happens to be...
A Mama's Boy!

Who also loves his Daddy!
They had a nice little program with children from different grades telling about ways in which you can be safe. There was also a special musical visitor called Magpie! It was quite a treat and the children thoroughly enjoyed them!

Mother's Day

Today was a wonderful day! I woke up way to early but my hubby insisted I stay in bed. I read my book for a couple of hours! Hubby brought me coffee in bed. Hmmm nothing better than being snuggled in bed with a good book and a nice cup of coffee!
Then the kids brought me a delicious breakfast of cheese omlet, corn beef hash, and toast! Man oh man! Am I spoiled or what! Once I got up I saw the most beautiful roses and a cute little bag waiting for me on the dining table.

A couple of weeks ago, I made a dumb mistake and tossed my digital camera into my purse and left it. Somehow it managed to bust the display screen and that was the end of my digital camera! :-( Oh how I have been lost without it!

Inside that cute little bag was a new digital camera!!

My hubby is awesome! I can't believe he got me a new camera! I love it and am so excited to be back in business!!! Ha ha

I am definately one blessed mama!!
Happy Mother's Day !

Honest Scrap

I was tagged by Mommyof5 over at My Family. To accept this award I have to tell 10 honest things about myself and tag 10 people to do the same.

1. I am a Mommy and a Wife, and those are the two things in my life I am most proud of. I am thankful for the two children I birthed and the three I did not.
2. I would LOVE to someday add another child to our already large family. I have come to the understanding that if it is God's will it will happen, if it is not, it won't.
3. I met my husband online almost 10 years ago. I dropped everything almost 8 years ago to move and be with him. Everyone thought I was crazy, but we are still going strong.
4. I have come to a new point in my life where I have a fresh perspective on things. I am learning things everyday and trying to be the best person I can be.
5. I have an amazing group of friends who are more like family to me than friends.
6. I love to clean!! It is relaxing to me.
7. I have a weakness for Caribou coffee. I don't treat myself as often as I would like.
8. I like to be in control, but I am learning that I am not always in control all the time and that it is ok.
9. We are hoping to become first time homeowners really soon!!!
10. I spend way too much time reading other blogs than I do actually posting on mine.

I am tagging Sam @ My Family Journal

Elizabeth @ Polka Dots & Paisley

Melissa @ The Corkums

Melissa @ The Marsh Family Blog

I don't have 10 people to tag, but thanks for tagging me and sorry it took so long to get this post up!

My Boy & a Science Fair Project

So my sweet, darling boy had a BIG science fair project to do....No big deal right? Well normally, no, it would not be a big deal. Except for my sweet, darling boy didn't give me the proper information for said STEM Fair Science Project...until about 4 weeks after he should have. So we had a week and a half to complete a 6 week project. Did I mention he is sweet and darling and I love him more than life?

Belated Easter Post

I know Easter was nearly a week ago, but I have been busy with all the kiddos. So here is my Easter post....albeit nearly a week late.

We woke up to four very excited children who couldn't wait to see what "The Bunny" left for them.

We had a lovely breakfast and got ready to head to church for Mass. It was a great service and was thoroughly enjoyed by all. We left Church and came home where I went to see my sweet little God Daughter, Allyson.

While the ham was baking we colored the eggs (we were running behind) and had an Easter egg hunt for the kiddos.

We had a wonderful dinner with all four kids and my mother-in-law. My daughter Briana said a sweet blessing before we ate dinner. It was a wonderful day and I am thankful for all of the days with my family! Happy (almost a week late) Easter!

New Home

We have finally decided that we want to be homeowners! We actually decided this a couple of months ago and have been on the hunt since then. We have seen numerous homes and made a few offers. Nothing has seemed to come through though. Either our offer wasn't accepted or someone else beat us to it and they would have us for their back up. To be honest I was getting very frustrated with the whole process. Houses I wanted to see, hubby wasn't interested in and vice versa.

Well we went to see a place last week that has been on the market for quite some time. After walking through, I instantly loved it. The bedrooms were bigger. Double closets in the master. Bigger, updated kitchen. Large basement and plenty of room for all 5 kids. And it was only very slightly above the price range we were trying to stay within. So we decided what's it going to hurt, so we put in an offer that was realistic for us. The buyer ACCEPTED and we are waiting for the last information from the bank. I am trying not to get too excited because I know any bump in the road can send things spinning. But it looks like this may work. We are currently looking into inspection companies and title companies.

Out of all the homes we looked at there have been only two that I can picture my belongings inside. I know where I want my couch. I have pictured where my large mirror will look best. I can just already see me in that house. I am making notes of things I want to change to make it more "US" and am looking at paint colors!

I am going to try and find the photos of the house that are posted online. I want to keep a record of what we started with and what things are like when we finish making it OUR home!

*Updated* April 4,2010
We still haven't gotten complete confirmation that the house is ours. Still waiting on some things from the bank. Who knew it took so long to let you know that Yes, you can buy this house! We did drive past a few days ago and there is a sold sign in the front yard. We have also chosen a title company and termite and home inspection companies. So I guess that is something huh? Even though things have been going smoothly, I am trying not to let myself get overly excited, only because I know at this point things could still happen! It is really hard to wait. And I am fighting the urge to start packing!
